5 Uses for 12 x 12 paper

So, as a non-scrapbooker, occasionally I find myself in need of a piece of paper and nothing is lying around - except that sheet of Basic Grey (please insert preferred paper supplier) she left on the kitchen table.

These have in the past been used for:

  • Rocket bodies for the kids (nice stiff paper is essential!);
  • Wedges for the door on a breezy day;
  • Emergency funnel for funneling coffee beans into a pack;
  • Place mat for a spagetti dinner; and,
  • To paper over the escape hole that has taken me years to chip through the walls. . .
Ok, the last one isn't strictly true, but might become necessary if I ever again use the WRONG SHEET OF PAPER!

Ooohwa, trouble.

At least you'll have lots of interesting implements to chip that hole in the wall with.

Oh yeah I can see a big hole in your future if you keep using Basic Grey as door wedges.

I can relate to this. I have a husband who once (and I stress only once) used my metal ruler and best craft knife to measure and cut plasterboard. He did live to plaster another day but not with my tools!

I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after the mention of the Basic Grey door wedge.

Jeez, Grendel,

I had been planning to invite you to visit us, should you ever tire of the Land Below and wish to take a gander at the incredible Great Lakes. I’d send you off with DH, to help make large things, like dry laid stone pillars, clay studios, and hot tubs with views of the lake. I’d entertain DW, and duct tape the little grendels into happy bits in front of our large screen TV. But not now. I am appalled. I am breathless with indignation. My right temple throbs with the heights my eyebrow has reached.

Ahhh such a shame too - it has been nearly 30 year (oh god am I that old?) since I first dipped my toes in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan and been dampened by the wind blowing off Lake Superior, so a fresh visit would have been great.

Ah well I'll just sit here and practice my Basic Greyogami. . .
